Made in Brazil. Established in the US. A camera loaded with film and a guest bathroom turned into a dark room were all I needed growing up. From the hectic life of the big city to the mystery of the ocean across the street from my parents' apartment and the sovereignty of the mountains that surrounded a family vacation home, my lens always searched for the beauty and spirit of people and nature. With a degree in Journalism, photojournalism assignments challenged me with visual story telling, which came more natural to me than writing.
Horses have always been a part of me and soon became my favorite subject. My dad was a horseman and taught me how to ride and respect the horses from a very young age. My love for them led me to the American mustangs. Spending countless hours with wild horses observing their dynamics and behavior and getting to know them, revealed a whole other world that I didn't know before. I had no option but use my photographs to help bring awareness to the issue they currently face - the threat of losing their safely and freedom.
Each person views a photograph from their own perspective - different experiences and different times in life. My hope is that my work will trigger you to wonder, imagine, dream and smile. That it will inspire you to get out and experience all the beauty in our world - the spirit of nature and humanity - that we so often miss noticing.
